On Tokopedia Electricity Credit

I tried to purchase electricity token credit from BCA internet banking service. But, it didn’t work. My transaction could not be processed. Lucky that Tokopedia — one of the  Indonesia marketplaces — is available for electricity token credit. The order process was simple. After having the order under my internet banking account, I made the payment. And, within seconds I had my order status to “Paid”. Great.

Wait… not so great. The thing was that the token credit was not available yet. It was because of the system policy that “An order made between 11PM until 1AM will be processed (automatically) after 1AM”. Meh.

Bingung dengan Rincian Biaya/Tagihan Telkom IndiHome!

Sudah bulan kedua ini saya berlangganan layanan IndiHome. Proses menjadi pelanggan juga tidak selancar yang saya perkirakan. Namun, pada akhirnya saya bisa mendapatkan layanan IndiHome untuk mendukung keseharian saya baik dalam bekerja, maupun untuk keperluan lain yang menggunakan koneksi internet.

Beberapa rekan kerja saya juga menggunakan layanan IndiHome dengan paket yang sama. Sebelum saya mendapatkan tagihan pertama saya, kami bertukar informasi mengenai jumlah tagihan. Dan, ternyata tagihan tidak sama. Tentu saja, ada beberapa komponen tagihan yang memengaruhi. Namun, selisihnya sepertinya terlalu banyak satu sama lain.

Akhirnya, saya mendapatkan tagihan pertama di bulan Februari 2016, dengan rincian seperti di bawah ini:

BIAYA INDIHOME 3P: 248.710,00
RESTUSI/DISKON/DEBET: 105.000,00
PPN UNSUR KENA PAJAK: 35.820,00
DENDA TERBAYAR: 3.000,00
PERCAKAPAN PONSEL: 4.488,00
Total Tagihan: Rp 397.018,00

Masih dibawah Rp 400.000,00 sesuai dengan alokasi budget saya — selain ada alokasi untuk kebutuhan pulsa di ponsel, dan layanan mobile data. Untuk kebutuhan internet di rumah, penggunaan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari saja. Saya bekerja dengan laptop saya, menggunakan internet juga di ponsel dan tablet. Layanan kabel UseeTV juga kadang saya manfaatkan, walaupun sebenarnya cukup jarang juga.

Walaupun dulu ada kabar tentang kebijakan FUP (Fair Usage Policy) dari Telkom, atau pemblokiran Netflix, bahkan pengurangan jumlah kanal siaran di UseeTV, hal tersebut tidak terlalu signifikan bagi saya. Bahkan, kalau saya boleh memilih, saya lebih memilih untuk menggunakan layanan internet saja. Layanan televisi UseeTV dan telepon rumah hampir bisa saya abaikan. Masalahnya, ketiga layanan tersebut (internet, tv cable, dan telepon rumah) sudah menjadi satu paket layanan.

Taylor Swift on Apple Music

This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs. Taylor Swift’s love letter to Apple Music’s free 3 month trial. Apple’s Eddy Cue responded to her letter, and Apple will change the policy on the trial period. Interesting.

Reminder: Google Apps Free Edition Will Support 10 User Accounts


This news was sent by Google in April 2011. But, I think I have to keep this info also for myself. In short: There are only ten accounts created under a single Google Apps Free account (previously, we can have up to 50 accounts). In last April, Google Apps account holder should received an email from Google Apps Team informing this changes. Yes, I got some too — since I maintain some accounts using Google Apps:

We recently announced upcoming changes to the maximum number of users for Google Apps. We want to let you know that, as a current customer, the changes will not affect you.
As of May 10, any organization that signs up for a new account will be required to use the paid Google Apps for Business product in order to create more than 10 users. We honor our commitment to all existing customers and will allow you to add more than 10 users to your account for ___________.com at no additional charge, based on the limit in place when you joined us.

This new policy will work for accounts created after May 10, 2011. It will not affect existing accounts (created before this new policy). Google offers some flexible pricing scheme. Google for Business pricing and features:

  • $5/user account/month OR $50 / user account / year
  • 25 GB of email storage/account

I myself only have less than five users under my Google Apps account. Considering the features, I think the pricing scheme is still reasonable.

IDR 100K to Update Domain Registrant Contact and Domain Transfer for .ID Domains

If you’re having .ID domains — I do have some, you might heard about the news. That’s right, the news (it’s official!) said that starting from November 1, 2008, we need to pay IDR 100,000 (around US $10) to update Registrant Contact and/or Admin domain information. And, what makes it even better is that we need an formal letter. But, if we only need to update billing, technical contact and nameservers… it’s free.
Anyway, I posted about my experience about .ID domain renewal last year. With this new policy, I think I’ll avoid using .ID. If my clients want to register .ID domains, they should know about this first. It’s much cheaper — and easier — to have .COM!
