Batik Sarimbit

Waktu beli, saya hanya memerhatikan saja.

Waladalah!

Vimeo Plus is Available for International Users

vimeo_plus
Vimeo, my favorite video sharing provider, offers its Vimeo Plus for international users. Right now, Vimeo offers two types of account: free and Plus. I’m using the free account, and it’s more than enough for me.
With Vimeo Plus, we can get these features:

  • 5GB of upload space per week
  • 5000 free HD embed plays with purchase
  • The ability to control which domains can embed in HD
  • 25fps/PAL support for HD (up from 24fps)
  • Make your videos private on Vimeo.com while still able to embed them on your site
  • One-button upgrading of your existing videos to the latest high-quality format without using additional upload space
  • No banner ads
  • Unlimited Groups/Channels/Albums
  • Priority uploading.
  • Full control player customization

All for $59.95/year. For free accounts, I got these features:

  • 500MB of storage per week
  • Standard quality Video
  • 1 HD video per week
  • Basic player customization
  • 1 group, 1 channel and 3 albums

This is very a great offer for those who have many videos in HD quality. All my videos are still in standard quality. Well, only capture video using my mobile phone and digital camera. :)
But, when I have my own video recorder that support HD videos, I might upgrade my account. Anyway, among the video sharing providers, I like Vimeo. I tried to upload a same video to different providers like YouTube, blip.tv and Vimeo. And it seems Vimeo is the best solution for me, right now.

Videoblogging, anyone?

I decided to start a videoblogging now. When I am with my camera digital, sometime I capture videos and photos. So, why not bring the videos online? I know it is probably not popular — especially in Indonesia. But, why not?
After doing comparison steps among some video hosting providers like Vimeo, YouTube, blip.tv, Yahoo! Video, Google Video, etc, I decided to host all my videos to Vimeo and embed to my videoblog. I capture all videos using both camera digital and my mobile phone Nokia. Just in case you find a low-quality videos, you know the reasons. :)
My videoblog is built using WordPress and Viper’s Video Quicktag plugin with template modifications — also some other plugins. Right now, not every video has a story/descrption, but I will add some later. Okey, here is my videoblog URL: http://video.orangescale.com

Trojan for Firefox: Trojan.PWS.ChromeInject.A

Here are a news about trojan from Greasemonkey — a Firefox addon. It is identified by BitDefender.

BitDefender has identified this new bit of holiday cheer as Trojan.PWS.ChromeInject.A” (the ChromeInject suffix refers to the Chrome component of Firefox). The trojan installs itself into Firefox’s add-on directory, registers itself as Greasemonkey, and begins searching your hard drive for passwords, login details, your World of WarCraft account information, and your library card number.
Please note, this trojan is not actually the Greasemonkey add-on, and only identifies itself as such. Mozilla has confirmed that the official Greasemonkey release contained within Mozilla’s own extension repository (and available here) is malware-free. If you’re currently using Greasemonkey or are interested in doing so, there’s no reason to avoid the legitimate add-on at this time, so long as you download it from Mozilla’s page or an equally trusted source.
Source

What does this trojan do?

Once installed, the trojan is capable of identifying over 100 web sites. When an infected user visits a site the trojan recognizes, the parasite comes to life and records the login/password details being transmitted. Presumably it then goes back to sleep, quietly keeping an eye on further system activity.

Tempe!

Saya sendiri jawab, “Ya dinaikkan saja harga lumrah kok Mbak…”.

Ah, tempeeee.. tempeeee…

Few things you need to know about Yahoo! Photos closing

Yahoo! Photos Closing
You probably had heard that Yahoo! will close its Yahoo! Photos service on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 9 p.m. PDT. I have a Yahoo! account but I do not use their Yahoo! Photo service. I use Flickr instead. Here are few notes you’re probably need to know:

  • Yahoo! will focus on Flickr. Yes, Yahoo! acquired Flickr two years ago. So, rather than having two photo sharing services, Yahoo! will only run one, that is Flickr. I believe it was not an easy decision. Once again, Yahoo! Photos service will be closed on September 20, 2007 at 9 p.m. PDT.
  • Before the service completely closed you have some options to keep your photos. You can choose from some other photo sharing services. They are: Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Photobucket.
  • You can also download all you photos (before you move your photos to other photo sharing services, or before Yahoo! Photos service completely closed).
  • You can buy an archive CD. This service is provided by Englaze Archive. You will be charged $6.95 for every 700 MB of photos (if you’re Yahoo! Photos users). This service only available for users who signup for New Yahoo! Photos service. It was introduced in August 2006. (Read Englaze FAQ)
  • If you have moved to other services, you can not access your Yahoo! Photos account anymore. You should choose the best option.
  • You need to wait until your photos transfered to new service you choose. It depends on how many users uses the other services. If your photos have been transfered, you will get notification emails. If you’re in the waiting list, just wait. Flickr probably the fastest service in the transition (yeah, Flickr is owned by Yahoo!).
  • During the transition, you will not be able to access your Yahoo! Photos account. If you have problems during the transition, the problem will be addressed to the target services, so you need to contact them directly.
  • If you give different photo permission (private, public, friends), all your photos will be flagged to “private”. So, you need to change the photo permission by yourself.
  • All other information e.g. Album Information, Photo Information, Photo Detail: EXIF data (camera type, resolution, size, etc.), and tags will be transfered. If your photos have comments, friends’ list, and smart albums; all these information will not be transfered.
  • Since you will be using other service, you need to follow its aggreements (storage and upload policies).
    • If you’re using Flickr’s free account, you can upload 100MB worth of photos each calendar month. And, photostream views limited to the 200 most recent images. If you have more than 200 photos, all of them will be stored. But, only 200 recent photos will be visible. (more info)
    • Kodak EasyShare Gallery provides free unlimited online photo storage to you for 12 months from the date you first upload an image to your account. (more info)
    • Snapfish offers free, unlimited storage of your online photos, whether they come from film you develop with us or from digital photos that you upload to your account. There is no limit to the number of rolls you can send in, nor is there a limit to the number of digital photos you can upload. You can have an unlimited number of albums and photos in your account. (more info)
    • Shutterfly offers free, unlimited storage. You can store as many pictures as you wish, with no fee to upload or store your pictures.
    • If you want to use Photobucket, you can read all Yahoo! Photo Migration FAQ.

Once again, I believe that this decision is not easy to make. For Yahoo! Photos users, it might be one thing they do not want to happen. Yahoo! runs the service, and it’s their decision. Like or not, we have to choose.

ISBN-13

Effective January 1, 2007, the length of the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) will officially change from 10 to 13 digits. This change will require book industry organizations to use 13-digit ISBNs instead of 10-digit ISBNs when identifying books in global trade.

I got bad fever

Yesterday, I got a very bad fever. And it was terrible and bad day. The day before, I had 18 hour sleeping. Haha! *Lazy Thomas!* So, I woke up so early in the morning, at 4 AM. Errghh after that, I couldn’t go back to bed. At 5 AM, I took a bath. And when I told this to my friends they said, “Really?” hahaha it seems I’m too lazy to take a bath. Hydrophobia? Hahahaha! Well, the cocroach doesn’t take a bath every day, but it’s clean.

And last night, I couldn’t take a rest. I woke up every hour. I went to bed (at Itok’s) around 2 AM, and I woke up at 7 when my cellphone alarm rang. After that, I work with some of my sites. Deadline. Deadline.

Around 10, I went to internet station, and checked my site, and surprise!!! bandwidth Limit Exceeded. Errgh again? Oh no. Once, my friend said, “Too many visitors is not good for your bandwidth.” Hahah.. I think he’s right. But that’s not the point. I checked the bandwidth, and it was 728,xxx Mb. Hey! The bandwidth should be 2 Gb. Errghh Not long after that, I contacted my webhost, and the problem was fixed. :) My site run again.

So, for some people hosted at warnadunia.net, if you read this post, please take a note:

On the next August, I have to renew my domain, warnadunia.net, and I have to pay the host. Once again, I’m not rich, but I do want to help you. At least you can make site, learning new things, etc. But, considering the how much it will cost, I can’t handle it myself. I know, what you experince is that you have your subdomains, you have your site run, etc. But, I’m not sure if you know what I have to do to make warnadunia.net keeps running. So, when I renew my account, it won’t be this big, it will be smaller. And I had to remove some subdomains. *sorry, . so sorry I don’t want to, but I have to.* Except, there is a person who buys me a webhost account. *dreaming wake up Thomas!*
The community and knowledge should run, but it needs many things. A website has to run, but it needs webhost. *sigh* If I can’t renew my account, I think I will keep the domain, backup all files and databases, and moving to another places. Anyone want to host host me?
I also talked to William, and still around Ensiklonesia, now the Ensiklonesia users are increasing (quite rapid?). Hhehe.. how many users there, Wil?

He said also about Jeffrey Zeldman’s Designing with Web Standards. Hehe.. want the book too? I also want that. Anyone want to buy us? Hehehe Probably, when I have that book, I will write like what Matt has on his site when the Mailman is Back.

Well about book, I don’t know why is it so difficult to have such book in Indonesia? Not even in the library. The book publish ten years ago seems to be difficult to find. Erggh book is knowledge. But, without book, we still gain knowledge right? Hehehe But if there is someone wants to buy me Jeffrey Zeldman’s Designing with Web Standards, I’ll be one of the happiest creature in the universe. ROFL.

Yeah, I’m just a dreamer I guess. Oh, Matt, I’m still working on the little article and tutorial, and hope when I finish it, I’m also come with some new buttons.

Well, I notice, that Indonesian WordPress users are getting greater and greater. Go! Go! Go! ** I also made some changes on WP files, translating it into Bahasa Indonesia! hahaha is it possible? I hope. So, unofficial release of WordPress in Bahasa Indonesia. When my friend wanted to install it, he asked me, and when I tell him in Bahasa Indonesia, he said, “Cuman kayak gitu? (Just like that?)” See, the problem is not the difficulty level, but the languages.**

Ergghh.. I think I have to stop typing now. Have a nice day, and it’s time to take a bath.
