Dadio.TV is One Now

Last year, I started a new called Dadio.TV with my friend, Teguh Dwi H. Now, our videoblog is one year old. Seeing from the number of episodes we published, traffic, and how we deal with all the production processes, I think I should be proud of it. I wrote an article about it at Dadio.TV blog.

Earth Hour 2011, Jakarta

Yesterday, I joined Earth Hour 2011 at Bunderan Hotel , . Took some and will publish a episode about this . Met lots of . About the event itself, I think I’ll write about it later. In the meantime, enjoy some photos from my camera phone. Video will be published at Dadio.TV :)

Bye MyBlogLog

I have some blog posts about Yahoo!’s MyBlogLog service. In December 2007, introduced an integration with ID. In July 2008, MyBlogLog introduced its new . But, I think I don’t have any “real” advantage having MyBlogLog installed on my blog. I can’t remember when I have it installed.
Maybe, you heard the news also that MyBlogLog will close its door on May 2011. I got an from them.

You have been identified as a customer of Yahoo! MyBlogLog. We will officially discontinue Yahoo! MyBlogLog effective May 24, 2011. Your agreement with Yahoo!, to the extent that it applies to the Yahoo! MyBlogLog, will terminate on May 24, 2011.

If you’re a paid costumer — I’m curious about how many paid customers, anyway — you’ll get refund for unused subscription period. Yahoo! offers another alternative called Yahoo! Pulse — it’s not a new , by the way — which I don’t use it at this moment. So… good bye MyBlogLog.

Firefox 4: Graphic Drivers Problems

Yesterday, Firefox 4 was launched and lots of — including me — are happy now. I heard about Firefox 4 during last year Pesta in . At that time, Mozilla Indonesia brought some people from the team (including the developer) to share some knowledge what could be expected from Firefox 4. I was impressed with some features, even some features were already shipped with like Google Chrome. It was like, “Okey, that’s cool. But, {name one of the browsers here} already has that (feature)”.
After that, I have Firefox 4 Beta releases installed on my . I had two version of Firefox browsers installed so I could jump between them when I want to see some changes. Everything was running great, including the upgrade processes. I haven’t found any problems so far. When I joined the Firefox 4 Twitter Party, I was happy.

Yahya Kurniawan's avatar

But, is everyone happy? No. Yahya Kurniawan, a friend from Jogjakarta, didn’t have his Firefox 4 run well. The issue was on the graphic drivers. Everything was fine — he had some browsers installed, anyway — until he had Firefox 4 installed. He’s still upset, I think. :)
Yes, Firefox confirmed that there are some bugs:

Firefox 4 automatically disables the hardware acceleration and WebGL features if the graphics driver on your system has that cause Firefox to crash. You still get all the other benefits of Firefox 4, of course, just not the newest graphics features. But for best results, you need an up-to-date graphics driver that fixes those bugs.

You can also find some additional details at Benoit Jacob’s blog. So, if you happen finding the problem after installing Firefox 4, you might want to check this issue.

Earth Hour 2011 and Discussion at Obrolan Langsat

Last night, I was going to Obrolan Langsat and joined the discussion about Earth Hour. Yes, this is an issue, but I’m not calling myself good at this. Every month, I pay the electricity bill for my grand parents’ house — and I don’t experience a big changes on the bill every month. May be, they’re good at saving energy. :)
This year, Earth Hour will be held on March 26, 2011 at 8.30 – 9.30 PM local time. In , the celebration will be focused at Gedung Balaikota (Jl. Merdeka Selatan) and Bundaran Hotel . If you have time, see you there!
Last year, my videoblogging partner — yes, Dadio.TV is a project of two: my friend and I — created an episode about Earth Hour at National Monument in Jakarta. Here’s the :)

Let's bring this blog back!

This blog goes nowhere. It’ still here, still up and running, but I realized that there is no single post in the last… (almost) two months. Not to make any excuses, but I think I was busy. I’m still updating my other blog, though.
Few days ago, when I was working on some -powered blogs, I found that there are some changes. I upgraded some blogs — including some installed , and I also found problems. But, the problems had been solved anyway. I logged in to my , and run some processes. One of the problems I found was a WordPress plugin called “Jetpack”. Anyway, if you haven’t heard about Jetpack, here is a little bit detail:

Jetpack is a plugin that connects to and enables awesome , powered by our infrastructure.

There are already some features included, but I think I only use of: Stats. Previously, I have Stats plugin installed, after having my blog upgraded to Version 3.1, the statistic plugin stopped working and left this message: “Your is not authorized to view the stats of this blog”. After searching some answers, most of the solutions mentioned about having Jetpack replaced Stats.
But, when I tried to activate Jetpack — by authenticating to account — it didn’t run smoothly. I got this :

Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32601Try connecting again.

I tried again and again. I searched for a solution and the problem was because I have a plugin installed. By the way, I use W3 Total Cache. So, I disabled the cache settings, sent an authentication request, and voila! Problem solved. If you find problem just like what I had, now you know the solution.
I also made some modification here. I removed some features I considered as “not-too-important”. More importantly, it’s a matter of having some articles posted here. Shoot!
