Indonesia team didn't win AFF Suzuki Cup 2010

Yes, team didn’t win this year AFF Suzuki Cup 2010. But, Indonesia beat in the second game. In the previous game in Malaysia, Malaysia team won 3-0. Yesterday, Indonesia won 2-1. But, for me Indonesia gave something to watch. Great game!

Trus tanya nomor telponnya…” Catat: pernah dengar kan becandaan ini?
Orang yang tadi diminta bantuan Pak Senen (dengan nada serius), “Lha gimana toh mas? Lha wong nomor telponnya ndak tahu kok malah disuruh nelpon…”

*hening… terdengar sayup-sayup suara jangkrik*

TEDx Jakarta: SOMETHINK DIFFERENT! I'm going!

I went to TEDx Jakarta for the first time in July this year. And, it was because I stay in . When I was in , going to become something that I didn’t expect. I like TED events — including its independently-organized event, this is why it has “x” in its name. I downloaded lots of videos from TED Talks. Not sure how many videos in have in my hard-drive, but until today, I feel that I got many knowledge — only by watching the talks.
In the previous TEDx Jakarta event, there were many inspiring speakers like Irfan Amalee, Irwan Ahmett, Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, Barry Likumahuwa, Ade Rai and Ridwan Kamil. After that event, I told myself that I should be going to the next TEDx event. Today, I got a confirmation letter that I got the invitation. Nice!

I’m ready to be inspired by some speakers like Adi Panuntun, Betti S. Alisjahbana, Chandra Tresnadi, René Suhardono, Anies Baswedan, and Sanggar Roda. Go to speakers’ page to find our more about them. I’m not trying to search for any details about what the speakers will present. Well, for this… I will let them surprise me — and hopefully all the audience. :)
Now, for personal reminder:

  • Venue: Pusat Perfilman Usmar Ismail (Usmar Ismail Hall) Kuningan
  • Address: Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said Kav C. 22, Jakarta 12940
  • Time & Date: December 19th, 2010. 2 PM — 6 PM, registration opens 1 PM

Anyway, I took lots of picture during 5th TEDx Jakarta event. You can go to its photoset at Flickr. And, if you want to see the videos, you can visit TEDxJakarta video playlist. And, if you want to be TEDx Jakarta speaker, there’s a question to answer. :)

Following Nokia ’s Eksismeter campaign, there is now Nokia Funaholic Icon Search. This is all about finding an icon for Nokia E5. Finally, Flickr in Bahasa Indonesia!

Finally, Flickr is now available in Bahasa Indonesia. If you visit Flickr’s website, you should see “Bahasa ” in footer area. Click on it and you will see in Bahasa Indonesia. And not only that, Flickr’s blog seems to be available also in Bahasa Indonesia. But, until today, it only has one post. I’m curious to see upcoming posts, at least more about Indonesia there. :)
AFF Suzuki Cup 2010
How does it affect those who wants to use Flickr, especially potential users from Indonesia? A lot! In the last few years, I met some who finally joined Flickr (some of them are using Flickr Pro accounts) after getting enough information. They asked me some basic questions like Flickr , some reasons why Flickr is the best options among providers, etc. In most cases, they finally go with Flickr after having enough details about this (from me). Right now, there are school, goverment and personal accounts I brought to Flickr from Indonesia. My high school even has more than 14,000 photos! I don’t work for Flickr, and I don’t mind giving some details to them. By having all information in Bahasa Indonesia (from the interface, FAQ, even the page!), it should be lots easier for them to learn about the service. Nice!

I'm going to Yahoo! Communities Meetup

I will be going to first(?) Communities Meetup this Wednesday, at Blitz Megaplex Pacific Place, . So, what is it all about? From its event page at Upcoming:

It’s a gathering of members from Yahoo!’s community-based , particularly Yahoo! Answers, and Koprol.
This is your chance to meet your fellow community members and the who help manage those services on Yahoo!. Expect an exciting evening of meeting new and familiar people and discovering new stuff about Flickr, Answers and Koprol.

Since I’m a Flickr and Koprol user, I don’t have any reason not to join this event. Yahoo! is expecting 200 people in this event. When I write this post, there are 150 people on the list. So, if you don’t have any schedules on that day, mark you and signup to the event. It’s free anyway.
To be more specific, it seems that this event is closely related to Flickr’s annoucement. Okey, see you!

Apa kabar?

Ah, sudahlah. Disatu sisi ini resiko juga sih. Jadi, apa kabar?

Angry Birds on a BlackBerry

Okey, now at least I can figure out how Angry Birds looks like on a . [Source: Gizmodo]

Now, this blog is using DISQUS

I decided to switch the commenting system for this blog, from ’ built-in commenting system feature to DISQUS. I was not sure which hosted I wanted to use — DISQUS and Intense Debate came into consideration. Here are some reasons why I use external commenting system service right now:

  • DISQUS provides integration with other like , Facebook and also OpenID. This features can be activated on WordPress-powered blogs using . But, if DISQUS already has this feature, why not?
  • DISQUS also offers spam filter mechanism. I’m tired of spam. and plugin did a great job. Right now, I rely on DISQUS spam filter. And I have Akismet activated also.
  • I’m happy with how DISQUS display blog comments. Options can be managed directly from the .

The migration process was easy. It took than 30 minutes to import all my comments (there were around 3,100 comments), and I got zero problem. It just worked.
