Marketing and Religion

Hermawan Kartajaya on marketing.

I am a marketer, but also a Catholic. From my opinion, marketing has been used unwisely in promoting religions. Marketing should not be used to promote the church, but deeper than that, it should be used to “” the good values found in a religion. The values of goodwill, helping others, loving thy neighbors, etc are something that should be communicated, and not the physical church itself.

Tempe!

Saya sendiri jawab, “Ya dinaikkan saja harga lumrah kok Mbak…”.

Ah, tempeeee.. tempeeee…

Okey, here is an info for you who like swimming. I know, some of you probably have heard about this. If you want to know about the largest swimming in the world, the answer will be clear now. Let’s compare it with the previously-biggest swimming pool, the Orthlieb (also known as Big Splash) in Morocco. It’s ‘only’ 150 yards long and 100 yards wide.
Let’s take a look some number and about this pool:

No WordPress 2.4

Previously, I mentioned some new/improvements what would be offered in WordPress 2.4. The developer team decided not to the 2.4 version. Before this decision, 2.4 was scheduled to be released on January 2008. (see its roadmap)
Later, we will have WordPress 2.5 in March 2008. More time, more means more solid product.

SimplePie Updates

Simplepie Logo
Last week, Geoffrey Sneddon of SimplePie planned to leave his role developing . As a reminder, SimplePie is a code library (written in PHP) that can be use to do creative things using and Atom feeds. If you have heard about Magpie RSS, SimplePie does similar actions. Do I use it? Well, when I developed Asia Blogging Network together with the team, I also use SimplePie to display global entry from the network. You can see the action on the frontpage.
Okey, so does SimplePie join the deadpool? It seems not. Ryan Parman — the other developer — took over the . And another new version of SimplePie (SimplePie 1.1) was released few days ago, with some improvements. Great!
