Subscribing to Reader's Digest Indonesia

Today, I received my first Reader’s Digest issue. Actually, it was my girl friend who wanted to subscribe to this magazine. Last July 2007, we decided to subscribe to this magazine. We thought we would had our first edition for August 2007 issue. But things did not go as we expected. Here are some notes:

  • We contacted Reader’s Digest Indonesia (RDI) by first (langganan (at) On July 12th, 2007 we received a quick respond for our first email. It was quick I suppose… about an hour.
  • After receiving information I needed, I sent the for yearly subscription. On July 16th, 2007, I sent my payment confirmation. Since I did not receive any message (No email bouncing), I thought that my confirmation was sent successfully and I will have my August edition by the end of July.
  • I waited. On August 6th, 2007, I contacted them (by ) asking why I did not receive the magazine. The customer support told me that they did not receive my payment confirmation in her inbox. Ouch!
  • It’s not completely their fault, I think. I can accept that. So, I re-send the payment confirmation, and I got a respond from them in the next few minutes. I was informed that I will receive September 2007 edition as my first issue.
  • And today, I receive it. Great!

Overall, I am satisfied with the from Femina Group. I had all my pre-sales questions answered. Thank you Reader’s Digest Inodnesia and Femina Group.

Need extra storage for Gmail and Picasa Web Albums?

I use Gmail as my email ( Apps for ). Currently, I am using only 20% of the total given (2 Gb). Well, my email traffic is not that high, so 2 GB is more than enough (for now). But, for some , 2 GB is not enough. Picasa Web Albums is another Google products that having a kind of limitation for the storage. It offers 1 Gb of storage now.

Now, if you think that you need more storage, and you still want to have Gmail as your primary email service and Picasa Web Albums, you can upgrade your account. Yahoo! Mail already offered unlimited storage, and Flickr also have a pro-account (unlimited storage for $24.95/year). Google’s paid storage will be used across Google service that supports storage (Currently, Google and Picasa Web Albums).

Let’s say we use those (email and web album). At Google, the price may vary. You can choose from these packages:

  • 6 GB ($20.00 per year)
  • 25 GB ($75.00 per year)
  • 100 GB ($250.00 per year)
  • 250 GB ($500.00 per year)

At , $24.95/year for pro account. Of course, it’s not only about “price”. There are some other things to consider like , supports, etc. I still use all free account (from Google and Yahoo!). All suits my need. Personally, if I want to purcase a pro-version service, I choose Flickr. Anyone want to buy me a Flickr Pro Account? :D
